Sending a loved one's remains is a deeply personal task, and ensuring it is done correctly provides peace of mind. Based on the guidelines provided, here is a simple checklist to help you navigate the process
Quick Checklist for Shipping
Contact Jackson Point Memories to notify them you will be sending remains and receive required paperwork
To ensure your loved one is handled with the utmost respect and the process goes smoothly, please verify you have these items ready:
Container - Remains must stay in the original plastic/cardboard container or urn.
Labeling - The container itself must be clearly labeled with the loved one’s name.
Shipping Box- A sturdy box provided by the post office labeled "Cremated Remains".
Required Paperwork - Authorization form, payment, and a copy of the cremation permit/death certificate.
Essential Shipping Instructions

US Postal Service requires the use of postal branded Cremated Remains packaging for all cremated remains shipments

Cremated Remains must be shipped using Priority Mail Express® (or Priority Mail Express International®) service. Priority Mail Express comes with USPS Tracking®. "Signature Required" box must be checked. No other service is permitted.

You can visit your local Post Office™ to have the package shipped.

Declare the Contents: When you arrive at the Post Office, you must tell the clerk the package contains cremated remains. They will provide appropriate shipping box

Next Steps After Mailing

Send an email to Jackson Point Memories with your tracking number as soon as the package is sent.

Wait for Confirmation: You will receive a notification once the remains have been safely received.

Timeline: The scattering will occur within 30 days (winter months may extend the timing weather permitting).

Final Memorial: You will receive an email confirmation after the scattering, with a memorial certificate and photo within 14 business days.
Important Note: Do not send remains without prior arrangements and payment, as they will be returned to the sender.
